Ms. Maertz's 1st graders are doing an author study for Leo Lionni. One of his most famous books is called "Swimmy". The story has been translated into many languages and we read it in kindergarten in Japanese. We just made our own origami fish and as a "group", we were able to put them together just like in the story of Swimmy! Check out our picture below.
